Sushi Samba (dnes Sushi Social) je restaurace v našem milovaném Reykjavíku. Tahle restaurace se profiluje následovně (volný překlad) :
"Sushi Samba nabízí jedinečné spojení japonské a jihoamerické kuchyně, kombinované s čerstvostí islandských ingrediencí."
A co to znamená pro nás?
Když něco máme rádi, tak to prostě máme rádi. Nechceme se omezovat na určitá témata či styly, chceme kombinovat a užívat si v životě vše, co nás zaujme a pobaví. Je to takový kulturní eklekticismus - čerpání inspirace a potěšení z různorodosti stylů, chutí a vůní celého světa.
Protože ne všecho, co lze vnímat jako "tradiční", dovede být zároveň v individuálním případě autentické. Slovy našeho oddávajícího pana Samojského:
Vztaženo na svatbu - autentická svatba by měla co nejvíce vyjadřovat, kdo jste, a nepředstírat nic, co nejste."
A my jsme ze všecho nejvíc Sushi Samba. Nedivte se proto, že nám k vietnamskému jídlu zahraje mexická kapela :).

Sushi Samba (currently Sushi Social) is a restaurant in our beloved Reykjavik. They profile themselves as follows:
"Sushi Samba offers a unique fusion of Japanese and South American cuisine combined with the freshness of Icelandic ingredients."
And what does it mean for us?
We love what we love. We do not wish to limit ourselves with specific themes or styles. On the contrary, we want to combine and enjoy all that happens to attract or amuse us. It is a sort of cultural eclecticism - drawing joy and inspiration from the diversity of styles, flavours and smells from all over the world.
Because on an individual level, not everything that can be percieved as "traditional" may also be authentic. Quoting our officiant Mr Samojský [free translation]:
When applied to a wedding - authentic wedding should as much as possible express what you are, instead of pretending what you are not."
And we are, most of all, Sushi Samba. Therefore, don't be surprised when there is a mexican band playing alongside your vietnamese dinner :).
